National Rebuilding Month is Almost Here!
Every April, [Re]Builders across the country celebrate National Rebuilding Month! During National Rebuilding Month, Rebuilding Together affiliates and volunteers work to amplify Rebuilding Together’s mission and provide essential home safety repairs for veterans, older adults, families and disaster survivors.
Last April, Rebuilding Together affiliates worked with over 13,000 volunteers to repair close to 800 homes and over 150 community centers nationwide, positively impacting the lives of over 1,500 local residents. This year will be no different. Our affiliates are gearing up for a month of service to their local neighbors and communities. The repairs Rebuilding Together affiliates will provide are free of charge to neighbors in need, who are often faced with diminishing resources and must choose food and medicine over critical home repairs.
“Too many Americans suffer from the health and economic consequences of living in substandard housing and underserved communities,” said Caroline Blakely, President and CEO of Rebuilding Together. “National Rebuilding Month serves as an annual month-long call to service to encourage people to support their neighbors, strengthen their community and ensure everyone is living in safe and healthy homes.”
National Rebuilding Month will culminate on National Rebuilding Day, Saturday, April 29, and will engage volunteers to complete repairs on homes, nonprofit facilities and community spaces to bring immediate, transformational change to neighborhoods across America on the same day.
We are proud to work not only in April, but year-round to repair homes and revitalize communities. If you’re interested in getting involved this National Rebuilding Month, reach out to your local affiliate for volunteer opportunities, spread the word on social media using the hashtag #RebuildingMonth, start a fundraiser or make a one-time donation.
